A Study of " Shadowy Beauty" in Yasunari Kawabata's Later Works like Thousand Cranes

Yasunari Kawabata(1899-1972),the second Asian writer winning the Nobel prize for literature after Tagore,is famous for such works as Snow Country,Thousand Cranes,The Old Capital,etc.Most people sing the praise of the novels of his early and middle writing period,as to his later works,arguments exist.This comment is mostly based on the novel Thousand Cranes and aims at uncovering the " shadowy beauty"—— variation of the main theme "melancholy beauty" under "naked passion" in his later works.Moreover,it tries to explore the reason of the phenomenon.
