试论万木草堂的办学特色

康有为创办的万木草堂在晚清书院和私塾中独树一帜。它以救国救民为归旨，以培养维新人才为急务，以学术创新为手段，以教学改革为突破，提倡学术自由，强调事上磨练功夫，重视精神品德教育，立于传统又超越传统，创造性地设计了较完整的教育教学计划，并贯彻到教育的全过程。其远迈时流的办学宗旨、融会古今的教学内容、清新自由的学风与教风构成了它的办学特色，也确立了它在近代教育史上的重要地位。

On the Teaching Characteristic of Wan Mu Cao Tang

Wan Mu Cao Tang set up by Kang Youwei flew its own colors among institutes and private schools in Late Qing Dynasty, possessing its own unique characteristics. It regarded saving our country and the people as its purpose, training the reform talents as its urgent task, creating the academic learning as its means, reforming the traditional education as its breakthrough; it advocated academic freedom, emphasized practical experience, valued virtue education, based on the convention and surpassed the one, and designed creatively a far more complete teaching plan, and carried out during the whole school teaching process. Its teaching characteristics consisted of its educational purpose above the ones of their times, its teaching content merging old and new knowledge, and its free learning and teaching atmosphere, which helped it to obtain its important status in the modem educational history of China.
