| 摘 要： | 乔治·爱略特的作品往往洋溢着浓郁的宗教受难意识,其表现形式是,多以一位圣母似的女性在人世间承受苦难的经历作为小说情节的主线,在其行为背后熔铸了作者浓郁的宗教意识以及唯物主义哲学对其的深刻影响.正是这种宗教与哲学内涵的存在,使乔治·爱略特的小说显示出博大深邃的品格.
