The 21st century is witnessing the booming of information technology and transportation technology.With the increasingly frequent exchanges in the filed of economy,politics and culture,the spatial distance between different countries in this world has gradually been shortened.Hence,the interpreting work, which plays a vital role of bridge and link in trans-language communications, has drawn people＇s increasing concern and attention.It is the characteristics of interpreting that have determined the basic qualities an interpreter shall possess.These essential qualities not only include a solid foundation of professional knowledge,well-knit basic skills,but also have much to do with the occupational accomplishment of interpreters themselves,such as a good psychological quality,good team work spirit,strong senses of responsibility and confidentiality,etc.An interpreter shall make unremitting efforts to acquire these basic qualities.
