| 摘 要： | 英语的语音变化规律十分复杂,其语音规律及音变现象受到历史、地理、文化等诸多因素的影响。其中起始于十四世纪的元音大推移现象对于英语元音的演变起到了深远的影响。本文旨在通过对元音大推移的分析,帮助读者了解英语元音的变化规律,通过对比现代英语、中古英语中的实例,解决在现代英语语音中存在的疑虑并由此推广、借鉴,分析其他语言的某些相似规律。

| Abstract: | The changes of English pronunciation are complex,and the pronouncing rules and variations are subject to history,geography and culture etc.The Great Vowel Shift(GVS),starting from the 14th century,impacted the English vowels significantly.This paper intends to illustrate the changing rules of vowels through the analysis of GVS examples from Modern English and Middle English,and eventually removes some doubts regarding the English pronunciation and thus analyzes similar features in other languages. |
