| Abstract: | The relationship between men of letters and prostitutes in the Tang and Song Dynasties has exerted an important effect on the process of the creation of Ci.This paper attempts to make clear the factors of the culture. aesthetics and spirit in the relationship from three main aspects: the prostitute system in the then society and the quality of the prostitutes themselves; the cultural style and features of the association that the creators of Ci had with the prostitutes; the affective attitude of the creators of Ci to the prostitutes. |
