Politics,Life and Academic Studies:The First Generation of France Historians in China

The first generation of France historians in China includes Yang Renbian,Shen Lianzhi,Wang Yangchong,Zhang Zhilian,Zheng Duanmu,and so on.They published a lot of books,had wide knowledge and most of them led a long life.They had witnessed the great transformations of China for nearly a century.Their thoughts,writings and actions laid a solid foundation for French history studies in China.This essay aims to draw a collective picture of the first generation of France historians in China,to present their political choice,lives and academic studies.By doing this,it is not only possible to expand studies of contemporary Chinese intellectuals,but also helpful to bring some reflections on the development of French history studies in China.
