Abstract: | This article sets out to analyse the media requirements of a national adult literacy programme in a developing country. Media requirements are specified at three levels ‐‐ village, provincial, national ‐‐ and the interrelations between the levels are discussed. It is suggested that priority should be given to the development and provision of elementary aids, and the broadcast element is seen as providing a supportive role for the direct face‐to‐face elements of literacy teaching. |
