| Abstract: | From the perspective of semantic orientation,this paper analyses the discrepancy between syntactic structure and semantic meaning when negative-word not is used to negate the predicate syntactically in English,and comes up with some practical translation techniques as well,with the hope of contributing to the understanding and translation of English negative sentences of this type. |
