Metadiscourse is seen as a major feature of textual interaction.Metadiscourse contributes to creating coherent discourse,achieving some rhetorical goal,expressing different positions and evaluation and engaging readers.The present paper discusses the relationship between metadiscourse and textual interaction in terms of coherence,rhetoric,dialogue and evaluation.It is pointed out that metadicourse embodies interaction and is a effective rhetorical strategy.
