摘    要:本文首先探讨了教育技术的发展对我国外语教学改革的影响,对使用多媒体教材(《新E代英语》)英语课程改革实验作了若干反思。结论是现代教育技术不能直接决定总体教学效果。推行使用依计算机多媒体技术辅助英语教学为理念编写的新教材,其教学使用效果与具体使用环境(是否方便使用多媒体)、师资和学生自身的素质等多种因素相关。

Abstract:The present paper first briefly reviews the influences exerted by recent technological developments on theories and methods of English teaching in China,and then proceeds with an account of an experiment on computer aided English instructions with newly compiled multimedia-based course books conducted in Guangdong Radio and TV University.The review and the account taken together lead to a conclusion that technological factors alone do not play a determinant role in the teaching of a foreign language.Rather,language teaching and learning as a whole has more to do with the teacher,the learner,and the learning environment than with the computer-based multimedia technology when it comes to the outcome of language learning.
