利用希腊神话进行英语文化教学初探

希腊神话是希腊文化的重要组成部分,承载了希腊特有的民族精神和民族文化,对西方文化影响深远。在揭示希腊神话对西方文化的多方面影响,尤其是对深层隐蔽的文化核心的影响的基础上,提出利用希腊神话进行文化教学的构想,以期解决英语教学中的实际问题。

On Teaching English Culture by Means of Ancient Greek Mythology

Hellenism has long been hailed as the cradle of Occidental culture.An important part of Hellenistic culture,the Greek Mythology serves as embodiment of Greek's national spirit and culture and thus exert far-reaching influence on western and European culture.As a form of literal representation,it leads the effective intercultural teaching,which will be enhanced by exploration of the western culture and its deep structure hidden behind,into new dimensions.Based on analysis of the multi-layered influence of Greek Mythology on the occidental culture,this thesis brings forth the constructive suggestions that we may tap such literary resource as Greek Mythology to conduct culture teaching and solve some practical problems arising from it.
