“九一八”事变后，中日民族矛盾逐渐上升为中国社会的主要矛盾，变动了国内的阶级关系，使民族资产阶级，上层小资产阶级及其知识分子和开明绅士，乃至地方军阀都纷纷改变了政治态度，在抗日救亡这一共同政治利益的基础上初步实现政治凝聚；他们积极从事国统区的抗日救亡运动，其自身组织也有了初步发展；中间势力的崛起推动了抗日民族统一战线的形成。

After the September 18th Incident, the contradiction between Chinese and Japanese became the primary social contradiction, which changed the relations between every classes in China. Most classes began to gather politically together under the basis the political profits. They positively devoted themselves to the anti-Japanese and self-saving movement, and their organizations began principally to develop. Meanwhile, their growing up drove the formation of anti-Japanese uniform line.
