Daisy, the heroine in the novel＂The Great Gatsby＂by Fitzgerald, is not only the unforgettable lover of Gatsby, but also the wife of rude Tom Buchanan, representing the rich class. She is a member of negative images if we judge from her personal be-haviors, voices and tones, and others＆#39; evaluation on her; she is also a pitiful victim if we further analyze the reasons forming her personality from such perspectives as society and patriarchal thinking;the figure is not only a reflection of the author＆#39;s tragic outlook on life, but also an epitome of the American society.
