文化研究的理论突围——政治经济学与文化研究

文化研究与马克思主义政治经济学之间的深刻对立是建立在对政治经济学极深的误解之上的 ,只有在文化研究与政治经济学的桥梁重建之后 ,文化研究的事业才能成功推进。在文化研究与政治经济学的关系上 ,文化研究的首要问题就是 :它拒绝通过它自己的主张———统治方式及其伴随的文化实践 (文化研究对于此给予分析的优先性 )是建立于资本主义的生产方式基础之上———的含义进行思考。一个惊人的结果就是 :是文化消费而不是文化生产 ,是休闲的文化实践而不是工作的文化实践 ,成为 (文化研究 )压倒一切的关注焦点。

Political Economics and Culture Study

There is an uncritical populism in recent cultural studies,which stems from the bracketing off economic determination.Cultural studies as a radical enterprise,both its origination and its source of legitimation have direct connection with political economy.During the two developments in cultural studies,this connection was alienated.Political economy stresses that'modes of subsistence'or'modes of production'are the base of all social practices, but cultural studies does not think through its implication.Intellectuals should have courage to discriminate different popular cultural practices,because the uncritical populism dose harm to the emancipation of the subordinate.It is the empowerment,enlightenment and discrimination that legitimate the intellectuals.The project of cultural studies can be successfully pursued only if the bridge with political economy is rebuilt.
