| 摘 要： | 根据我国高职英语师资队伍的现状，分析了高职英语教师面临课程教学要求的挑战、教学对象提出的挑战和高职院校发展面临的挑战，进而指出了高职英语教师应该具备的素质，即英语教学理论与英语专业技能的基本功、英语课堂教学的基本功、现代教育技术的基本功以及“双师型”素质等，最后提出了提高高职英语教师素质的途径和高职英语教师所肩负的使命。
