论刘锡鸿的守旧思想

刘锡鸿的思想主要表现为:在思想文化上固守程朱理学和“夷夏之防”,在政治上固守“为政以德”和君主专制制度,在经济上固守以农为本、重农抑商。受建立在小农经济基础上的传统文化的影响,是刘锡鸿和倭仁、李鸿藻等晚清守旧派守旧的共性原因;个人性格气质等心理特征、所受教育以及所处的社会环境等因素的影响是刘锡鸿成为典型守旧派的自身原因。

On LIU Xihong Conservative Thought

LIU Xihong's conservative thoughts includes insisting on culturally ZHU Xi's Confucian ideology and "defending the minorities such as Yi and Xia",politically insisting on "ruling with virtue" and sovereignty and economically insisting on the agriculture-centered and trade-belittled.Influenced by the traditional culture based on the agriculture,LIU Xihong,WO Ren and LI Hongzhang,the conservatives at the late Qing Dynasty share the similar shortcomings.LIU became a typical conservative partly because of his own personality,education and social environment.
