| Abstract: | Pure Official, a novel by Xu Dishan, is a complicated classical work, but it has been neglected for a long time either intentionally or unintentionally both in the history of modem Chinese literature and in the history of Chinese novels. The writer of this paper argues that it is of great significance to re - excavate its implications and artistic techniques, to analyze the reasons why it has been neglected, and to determine its due position in the history of Chinese literature. |
