傅雷·张爱玲·《连环套》

张爱玲自1943年5月起连续发表一批小说作品轰动了上海，也令著名翻译家傅雷振奋。很少撰写文学评论的傅雷以迅雨为笔名，发表《论张爱玲的小说》，揭开了张爱玲研究的第一页。傅雷高度评价《金锁记》，对长篇《倾城之恋》和短篇《琉璃瓦》、《花凋》等有褒有贬，而对未定长篇《连环套》却采取了否定态度。他严厉针砭其主题、人物、格调，几乎全面否定其语言。正在创作旺盛期、好评如潮的张爱玲自然无法接受．在傅文发表当月作了回应与辩白。然而她心里十分明白：《连环套》没有写好，决定戛然而止不往下写了。几十年后，栖身美国的张爱玲重新看到《连环套》，她不能不衷心佩服傅雷激烈而中肯的意见。

FU Lei,ZHANG Ai-ling,and Lian Huan Tao

The May of 1943 witnessed the birth of ZHANG Ai-ling＇s publishing of a series of novels, which stirred Shanghai and excited the famous translator, FU Lei. FU Lei published an article under the penname of XUN Yu, On ZHANG Ai-ling＇s Novels, which has ignited the research on ZHANG Ai-ling and her novels. FU Lei sang highly of Jin Suo Ji, and gave both praises and critics to Qing Cheng Zhi Lian, Liu Li Wa and Hua Diao, while completely negated Lian Huan Tao. FU Lei criticized severely on the theme, characters, style and the words in Lian Huan Tao. ZHANG Ailing, who was at the utmost of her writing life, argued against FU Lei＇s critics. However, she knew clearly that Lian Huan Tao was a failure and decided to stop the novel. Decades later, ZHANG Ai-ling reviewed Lian Huan Tao and had to admire FU Lei＇s critics.
