The Open College: six months on
Authors:Piet Henderikx
Abstract:What expectations do we make of distance students in terms of the time that they give to study and their study activities each week? Do these expectations match the actual practice of students themselves? By means of postal questionnaires and 14 day diaries, external students of Riverina‐Murray Institute of Higher Education in New South Wales, Australia, informed David Roberts of the difference between Institute assumptions and their own behaviour. The conclusions provide food for thought to educators inclined to recommend ideal study patterns to their students.
