切脚语--联绵词中一种值得注意的现象--兼论单音词与双音词的对应关系

通过对切脚语特点的探讨，即对此类词的词形、词义、语音的综合分析，得出推论：所谓“切脚语”，实质上就是古语或标准语中的单音节词在向口语转化的过程中，由于“缓读”的作用，而分化为用两个音节(即两个汉字)表达一个不可拆开解释的词义，其词义又与一个书面语中的单音节词密切对应的、特殊的联绵词。它不过是联绵词的一个小类。其形成原因，应当是雅语向方言，书面语向口语，汉语区汉语向非汉语区汉语言语演变过程中的分化现象，是不规范言语与规范语言，记音词与意音词之间的对立统一。

Words from Sound Combination--Noticeable Phenomenon in Indispensable Words--Also on the Corresponding Relations between Monosyllables and Disyllables

Through probing into the characteristics of words from sound combination, that is, through integral analyses of morphology, meanings and phonetics of words, the paper come to the conclusion that such words are a small part of indispensable words. They are from elegant words to dialects, written language to oral language, and Chinese speaking districts to non-Chinese districts, which is formal as well as informal at the same time. Sound-translated words and words translated combined with sound and meaning are antinomy but consolidation.
