The security problem of an improved ECDSA

As a very commonly used elliptic curve digital signature algorithm, ECDSA has now become a hot spot for peo- ple to study. The improved ECDSAs are continuously proposed. This paper analyses the security of an improved ECDSA which was proposed by Gu Danggang. This new algorithm reduces the process of calculating the modular inverse ele- ment; thereby enhance the signature generation and verification speed. But the new algorithms have security vulnerabili- ties, with which an attacker can easily forge signatures.
