Cultivation of Certified Talents with Diplomats in Management of Tourist Sites

Tourism has emerged as one of the new engines of Chinese national economy.With tourist sites being one of the significant pillars in the tourist industry,there is an increasing demand for highly-skilled all-around application talents in this field who are required to be equipped with modern management theories and methods and are able to adjust themseves to the development of tourist industry both at home and abroad.To meet this demand,Hai dian University began enrollment in the specialty entitled Management of Tourist Sites in September,1999.At the and of 2000,this specialty was listed among one of the 20 experimented majors for highly vocational education of Beijing municipality by Beijing Educational Commission and was further supported and promoted as a newly-established specialty.Details with regard to the background of the set-up of this specialty,the training objective,the guiding idea,the personnel-training model,the teaching materials and teaching approaches are all included in this article.
