论华人企业的经理激励与约束机制

摘    要:文章尝试把文化和当代经济学理论结合起来,论述了华人企业的经理激励与约束机制。作者认为华人企业对经理的激励与约束深受中国传统文化的影响,尤其是“关系”和“情”起了非常重要的激励作用,这不仅表现在精神层面,而且还表现在物质层面。无论是家族经理还是非家族经理,他们对家族利益都具有较高的“认同感”和“忠诚度”,能够较好地实行自我激励与约束,从而有效降低代理成本。但是,“关系”和“情”的潜在激励作用是有限的,不利于华人企业规模的大型化。

Abstract:This paper attempts to discuss the mechanism of incentive and restriction for managers in overseas Chinese enterprises by combining Chinese culture with contemporary economics theories. We maintain that the mechanism of incentive and restriction for managers in overseas Chinese enterprises is deeply influenced by Chinese traditional culture, and that especially " the relations" and "affectionate feelings" play an important incentive role. Whether or not they are managers from the same family or tribe, managers in overseas Chinese enterprises tend to identify with the familial or tribal interests and remain devoted to the family or tribe so that they are able to discipline themselves by means of self - incentive and self - restriction, which has a great effect on the reduction of agency cost. However, such relations and affections are limited in terms of their potential incentive role, which does not contribute to the huge expansion of overseas Chinese enterprises.
