| Abstract: | The Figure-Ground theory is borrowed from the field of psychology to cognitive linguistics,and mainly used in the study of syntax,especially preposition.Leonard Talmy spares a whole chapter in his book Toward a Cognitive Semantics to study this theory,and many other linguists also study it in different aspects.In this paper,the author makes a general introduction to the theory based on Tamly’s founding. |
