| 摘 要： | 中世纪西欧建筑上大量出现的怪兽饰,其实在古埃及和古希腊、古罗马就已有之。也有学者认为,怪兽饰也许是罗曼艺术的遗存,最常见的观点认为这些怪兽是用来保护建筑及其拥有者,避免邪恶事物入侵的。根据怪兽饰的形状,可以分为几种类型:动物怪兽,人形怪物,混合杂交怪物。各类怪物的象征寓意是复杂的,而且在时间的流逝中不断变化。

| Abstract: | On medieval western European architectures there were many gargoyles,which came from Egypt,Greece and Rome.Some scholars hold that gargoyles are the relique of Romanesque art and they were made to protect the architecture and its residentiaryfrom evil's inbreak.There are three kinds of gargoyles: animal gargoyles,human shaped gargoyles,and hybrid gargoyles.Different gargoyles have different and changing symbolisms. |
