A Study of a CPD Programme for the Team of English Teachers

This paper seeks to examine the philosophy and methodology employed in navigating an inherited department which was understaffed with less than ideally qualified teachers operating inefficiently, culminating in one that demonstrates strength and ef- ficiency at every level. The approach adopted was predicated on the signposting of discrete professional development pathways with carefully programmed targets, tailor made to take advantage of the educational strengths of the members and designed to maximise the effectiveness of the groups by creating a complementary skill balance within each group.
