| Abstract: | In translation from Chinese to English,instances of sememic asymmetry are frequently noticed.The apparent causes of this phenomenon include differences of sememic segment between the two languages,differences of lexical markedness and rhythm between them,etc.A more in-depth cause is to be found in interlinguistic metonymy. |
