| Abstract: | Based on the translation of and research on the historical data in British Parliamentary Papers China 31 Opium Way and Opium Trade 1840—1885,this paper attempts to investigate into the tax disputes over opium trade between China and Britain before the signing of Sino-British Special Amendment to the Treaty of Yantai in the late Qing Dynasty in the hope of exposing historical truth. |
