On the Basic Principles of Legal Translation

Since the accession to WTO and China’s foreign economic exchanges increased,legal translation demanding also increases increasingly in foreign trade and exchanges.As a unique social language variety,legal language is different from daily expressions language and literary language.The connotation and characteristics give various requirements to legal translation.Legal translation needs to be strict,standard,to avoid ambiguity and disputes;language needs to be standardized,grave,not arbitrarily change the words;and the expression needs to be concise,clear and easy to understand.This is the legal translation principle accuracy,normative,concise.
