从文化特性视域探析汉语文化词语的英译

翻译是把一种语言所表达的思想内容用另一种语言表达出来的语言活动,也是一项过程复杂、内涵十分丰富的创造活动。在翻译实践中,汉语文化词语所蕴含的丰富文化内涵,使其英译充满挑战。本文从翻译的社会性、文化性、符号转换性、创造性、历史性来具体分析对不同类型的汉语文化词语的英译,从而更好地体现汉语的丰富内涵。

An Exploratory Analysis of the Chinese Cultural Words Translated into English from the View of Translation Characteristics

Translation is a kind of lingual activity which can express the meaning of original language by another language.It is so complicated an activity that it contains rather rich connotations.From the view of translation,lots of cultural meanings and connotations can be expressed.At the same time,there are also many cultural contents in translation,such as substance,society,religion,language,appreciation of beauty and so on.Translation has shown distinct features and influences in the process of translating Chinese cultural words.This thesis will analyze the five features in Chinese cultural words translation,which are sociality,culture,the shift of symbols,creativity,and historic significance.
