道德与个人真理

小说是容纳及拓展人类经验和生命感觉的容器,小说家所做的基本工作就是人类经验的鉴赏者和记录者。在叙事中,小说家要处理的最根本的问题是关于人的想象,是个人真理问题。小说家对道德事件的敏感不是道德本身,而是道德之下的人,他要通过对个人真理的发掘去动摇诸如道德这种我们习以为常的公共观念。小说家要写出人在历史洪流中的血泪和欢欣,写出每一个个体在历史和现实中不一样的面貌,这是小说的根本职责。

Morality and Individual Truth

A novel is a container to contain and extend human experience and life feelings, and what a novelist does is to appreciate and record human experience. In narrative,what a novelist deals with is basically about human imagination and individual truth.A novelist is not sensitive to morality itself but to people with morality.By digging into individual truth, a novelist wants to alter the kind of morality common to us.A novelist is responsible for revealing people＇s sadness and happiness throughout history and exposing different faces of different people in history and reality.
