Abstract: | The Boston Library Consortium has produced a union list of serials for many years as a crucial element in its broad resource-sharing program. In 1982, the Consortium agreed to work in an advisory capacity with the Faxon Company in the development of a new union list system, and to become the first test site for the system. Features of the system such as record format, data entry procedures, and editorial review options are discussed, along with considerations of training, documentation, administration, and staffing. |
