Utilizing the Internship Experience as a Bridge Between Technical Services and Public Services

ABSTRACT

This is the case history of a library school student who utilized training and experience gained as a support staff member in the Technical Services Department of an academic library during an internship program in order to make the transition to Public Services. The article describes how Technical Services training can offer the perfect bridge for entrance into work in Public Services.
