A Serials Cataloger's Work Is Never Done
Abstract:This article discusses the fact that recataloging of serial records is one of the most time-consuming areas in a serials cataloger's work. The factors lying behind the changes to the various parts of the cataloging record are reviewed and the methodology of making these changes is examined. The growing importance of cooperative cataloging is related to recataloging and to the cataloger's obligation to make complete and up-to-date information available to both the library user and the library world in general.
