| Abstract: | From the perspective of culture,examine inappropriateness of Newmark's semantic and communicative translation in terms of narrowing cultural differences and promoting cultural communication,which lies in the deficiency of its theoretical background,asymmetry of content and effect in poetry translation as well as bridging the gap of cultural differences.Besides,the underlying reason of each deficiency deserves close analysis. |
