| 摘 要： | 文章从研究文本<巴比特>出发,从巴比特人性的蜕变,宴请老同学时截然不同的两种态度,以及他所隶属的整个中产阶级对禁酒令的执行和认识三个方面入手,指出了美国20世纪20年代整个中产阶级虚伪、唯利是图、道德沦丧与生活作风堕落的社会现实.同时,对小说所反映出的当时的主流价值准则做出了分析与探讨.总结出了随流循俗是凌驾于一切之上的主流价值准则,从而抨击了美国的社会制度.

| Abstract: | The thesis is based on the novel Babbitt ,from the following three aspects: the degeneration of Babbitt 's personality ,the snobbish attitudes towards his old schoolmates ,and the execution and acknowledgement of American's ban against alcoholic drinks , exposes the hypocrisy, snobbery and corruption of the mid-class in the 1920's Meanwhile, concludes the leading value is drifting with the tide vulgarly. |
