英语学习中背诵输入的作用及实证研究

摘    要:英语背诵在现阶段大学英语教学中已遭到严重淡化。本研究采用测试的方法,探讨背诵输入在大学生第二语言习得过程中的作用。结果发现:1)通过背诵输入,学生可以掌握更多的短语知识;2)学生在翻译过程中经常使用固定短语,使翻译流畅、准确,速度加快;3)背诵输入对提高学生的口语和写作能力大有裨益。以上结果对现在外语教学和学习有一定启示:除了强调语法知识,熟读和背诵输入在英语的教与学中占有举足轻重的地位。

Abstract:Reciting input is less practiced in English learning in China.The research investigated the role of this practice in second language acquisition by examining the test performance by a group of non-English major learners.It is found that reciting input facilitates the learning of language and using English chunks enables learners to keep pack with idea development during translation process.It is also found that students hold conscious beliefs of reciting input as effective in helping them improve their speech and writing.The results support a view of language that in addition to learning grammar,the reciting input has its place in the second language classroom.
