南非苏纪石的宝石矿物学研究

摘    要:对产自南非的紫色苏纪石进行了宝石矿物学研究,结果表明该苏纪石与产自日本Iwagi Islet的浅褐黄色苏纪石在共生矿物及化学成分方面有差异,该苏纪石为微粒状集合体,并含石英、针钠钙石等杂质矿物,折射率为1.54—1.60,密度为2.74—2.75g/cm^3.紫外可见吸收光谱特征及化学成分分析结果表明Mn可能是该紫色苏纪石的一个重要致色元素.

Abstract:Gemological and mineralogical study of purple sugilite from South Africa was made in this paper. It is found that associated mineral and chemical compositions of purple sugilite from South Africa are different from light brownish yellow sugilite from Japan. The sugilite occur as aggregates of several grains, containing quartz and pectolite. Sugilite's refractive index is 1.54-1.60, and its density is 2.74-2.75g/cm^3. UV-Visible absorption spectra and chemical compositions of the sugilite indicate that Mn is probably the important color element in purple sugilite.
