| Abstract: | Merchants are an integral part of society.Qingdao merchants played a special role in history,especially in German colonial period and Japanese occupation.They were not only forerunners of the economy,politics and culture in Qingdao,but also backbone of patriotic and right protection movements.They made most out of the special social status,negotiating with,even protesting against the colonial authorities,thereby to some extent,safeguarding Chinese people's interests.Qingdao merchants have played an indispensable part in the development of society. |
