Main Tasks and Focal Points of Work at Library and Information Divisions of Research Institutes Under Network Environment

??Library and information divisions of research institutes are facing lots of new tasks under network environment.Themain tasks pointed out in this paper are as follows: 1. Further strengthening the building up of holding system,and deepening up specialdocumentholdings in order to enrich the network information resources; 2.Developing and sustaining special document databases to promote the information network development; 3.Developing crossw ise unions by using wide connectionsw ith localorganizations and departments; 4.Paying attention to information feedbacks ofusers, and facilitating the development and benign cycling of the network. The focalpoints ofwork undernetwork environment should be as following: building and completing the automatic information management system; setting up automatic retrieval interface and retrieving information for users, and finally, taking an active part in the information network and stepping into the bigcycling of network information services.
