“金陵十二钗”是《红楼梦》中写到的十二个贵族女子的统称,她们是《红楼梦》中描写的重要人物的一部分。在曹雪芹笔下．金陵群钗几乎无一能逃脱红消香断、花落春残的结局,作者把她们统统归入到“薄命司”中。从这个意义上说,《红楼梦》堪称为一部以创造女子典型著称的悲剧作品。

Twelve Beauties of Jinling" refers to the twelve beauties written in "A Dream of Red Mansion". They are parts of the most important characters in "A Dream of Red Mansion". Under the pen of Can Xueqin, almost none of the twelve beauties could escape from the result of tragic end. The writer attributed them into "The Record of misfortune Beau-tices". From this point of view,"A Dream of Red Mansion"is regarded as a famous tragedy which creates the typical beauties.
