Abstract: | This article argues for a raised awareness of the possibilities offered by the moving image in English, achieved through a wider and better informed understanding of the range of modes that are woven together in a typical text or performance. It pursues the argument through a case study of four films produced by bilingual Year 11 girls in a comprehensive school in Cambridgeshire. |
