通过对咸阳近50年来干旱特点及气候特征分析,发现干旱是咸阳最为严重的气象灾害,持续时间长,影响范围广;干旱季节分布呈双峰式分布,以冬季最重,其次是春末夏初;地域分布是北少南多,但北部冬旱最明显,其余三季旱月南部多于北部;并通过对温度和降水的趋势分析认为,未来咸阳干旱有加剧趋势。
