As the foundation of the Anglo-American law of Contract, the main function of the Doctrine of Consideration is to determine whether an informal promise is enforceable. But there are many contradictions in its concept, function, content and so on, which contains the contradiction of certain concept, the contradiction of positive and negative functions of consideration and the contradiction of many exceptions out of specific rules.
