摘    要:唐纳德·巴塞尔姆因其作品的实验性奠定了美国后现代主义先锋作家的地位。本文以巴塞尔姆的短篇小说《丽蓓卡》为分析对象,阐述作者通过将自己卷入作品之中、插入不相干的内容、发表评论和直接同读者对话并揭示写作目的这四种方式不仅强化作品的虚构性,游戏性,而且修正了历史,传达了寓意.从而颠覆了现代主义倡导的“真实性”和“非个性化”的叙事标准,揭示该技巧倍受巴塞尔姆青睐的原因。
