探讨在不同的文化背景下,社会文化对语言和交际的规约作用以及文化差异对语言和交际的影响。这主要从词汇使用的制约和语法使用的制约两个方面来研究,以揭示语言和社会文化的密切关系,进一步完善、丰富语用与社会文化的理论体系,最终减少社交失误,促进人际交流。词汇反映了一个民族的社会现实,并受该民族的文化传统等的制约。语法是语言表达方式的小结,文化背景不同,语言的表达方式各异。英汉两种语言历史悠久,由于地域、历史、习俗、宗教、思维等方面的差异,英汉词语承载着不同民族文化特色和文化信息,英汉词语所反映的文化差异对语言和交际产生了巨大影响。

Pragmatic Restrictions on Social Culture

This paper is intended to study how social culture restricts language and communication and how cultural differences influence language and communication, which emphasizes the following two aspects: vocabulary and grammar. The purpose of the research is to expose the close relationships between language and social culture, further perfect and enrich the theoretical system of pragmatics and social culture, reduce societal errors and enhance social communication. Vocabulary reflects a nation's social reality and is restricted by its cultural tradition. Grammar connects language expressions, which vary with different cultural background. With a long history and because of differences in districts, history, habits, religion, thoughts, etc. English and Chinese possess different cultural features and information. The cultural differences have a great influence on language and communication.
