| Abstract: | Comprehensive English, whose value orientation is embodied diversly, is a core and primary course for col- lege English majors which aims to cultivate their comprehensive language skills. Based on the orientation of this course proposed by the Teaching Syllabus for College English Majors, this paper, from the perspectives of course-nature, teacher-teaching and textbook construction, illustrates the diverse value orientation of the Comprehensive English course as well as the approaches to its realization and contributes greatly to the improvement of its teaching effectiveness. |
