会话目的与合作原则的违反

Grice的合作原则与会话含义理论没有说明人们为什么要违反合作原则,Leech的礼貌原则对合作原则违反的解释存在明显不足。通过对不同目的关系下违反合作原则的现象进行分析发现,造成合作原则违反的原因主要有交际能力的不足、目的关系的冲突和修辞目的的需要。说明在交际能力许可的情况下,会话双方的目的关系和发话者的修辞目的是合作原则违反的决定因素。从而得出在交际能力许可的情况下,会话目的是合作原则违反的决定因素的结论。

Conversation Purpose and Violation of CP

Grice’s Cooperative Principle and Conversational Implicature theory does not explain why people violate the maxims of CP.Leech’s Principle of Politeness is apparently insufficient in explaining the violation of CP.Analysis of various phenomena of the violation of CP in different purpose relationships reveal the three basic causes of the violation of CP including the insufficiency of communication competence,the conflict of purposes and the rhetorical purpose,which indicates that the purpose relationship between the two sides of the conversation and the rhetorical purpose of the speaker are the decisive factors of the violation of CP on condition of the permission of the communication competence.Therefore,it can be concluded that the purpose of the conversation is the determinant of the violation of CP on condition of the permission of the communication competence.
