江北大学堂续考

张相文1906年执掌江北大学堂后，订定章程，革新课程，从严招生，使学堂渐有起色，次年，因人事之变动辞职。1908年，夏斌任江北师范学堂监督，对学校教学及管理等方面进行了改革，因触及学生及地方利益不幸被挤走，接任者为淮安府中学堂监督蒋兴权。从江北大学堂到江北高等学堂、江北师范学堂，可考的几任校长为沈福昌、衷兴哲、张相文、邓继恩、夏斌、蒋兴权。

Study on Jiangbei Institute

After being in charge of Jiangbei University in 1906, Zhang Xiang-wen made the regulations, reforming the courses and seriously recruiting students, which made the University better than before, while he resigned in the next year for personnel change. In 1908, Xia Bin was appointed as the supervisor and made some measures on the aspects of teaching and management. Unfortunately, Jiang Xing-quan replaced him because Xia Bin's reforms had impact on students' and local interests. From Jiangbei Institute to Jiangbei Higher Leaning School and to Jiangbei Normal College, these presidents should be studied such as Shen Fu-chang, Zhang Xiang-wen and so on.
